UP-CYCLING

UP-CYCLING is an interactive durational outdoor happening, at the core of which is a giant PVC structure with which dancers will perform in different ways. The aim of this project is to discover new possibilities of forms for theatre and performance and at the same time to reflect poetically on the idea of community and collaboration by interacting with the audience as part of the performance itself. Themes important to the audience will be collected through interviews, as well as wishes of what the audience would like to see in the performance with the structure. This interaction will eventually co-create the performance on site together with our collective.

The structure is recycled from the set of a theatre production that is no longer on stage. How to reuse and recycle materials in a cultural field as well as sustainability in all its different aspects has become one of the central themes in our thought process, so all elements of the bubble are considered sustainable: materials, transport, electricity, costumes and music are designed to be eco-friendly and sustainably sourced.

The BETTER LATE artistic collective is formed for this specific project. The roles of the artists involved in this project are free and therefore a very fluid and non-hierarchical way of working together allows each person to bring different knowledge, point of view and skills.
